Entry denied…

As per my previous post I was on my way to the UK to shoot Laura and Iain’s wedding. I arrived yesterday morning on Heathrow airport after a 12 hour flight and ended up at the desk of a very ‘polite gentleman’ (as only the British can be) called Jonathan Legg. Well Jonathan asked me a couple of questions an told me to go sit on a little bench and disappeared with my passport for about an hour. Came back and told me I have a ‘visit visa’ and not a ‘working visa’.

I’m not going to go into the details, but it went something like this…. I was searched… interrogated… searched again… sorry sir, entry denied… detained for 14 hours (like a low life criminal) without my luggage or cell phone with me… and eventually put back on a plane back to Cape Town.

Just shows you, when it comes to a UK Border agent called Jonathan Legg, honesty won’t get you in. No matter how much you beg!

I can take the 3 days without sleep and being locked up like a criminal. Even the fact that I probably will never be allowed into the UK again. The absolute worst thing about this whole ordeal is that I’ve let my client down. This is officially the first ever wedding I’ve missed and words cannot describe how horrible I feel. Laura and Iain as I told you before; I am so incredibly sorry – I don’t know how yet, but will make it up to you…

Paul Pearce - This is really bad luck for both parties.
I know when i go to Namibia for a week to do our company IT work i always fly out on a Sunday and arrive dressed like a tourist even if they do want to question my camera equipment.
Still very bad luck.
